Software that reads a room the way an architect does.
Komorebi Threshold is building the Komorebi Spatial Engine — an AI system powered by Claude’s multi-modal reasoning that converts interior video and spatial measurements into daylight, acoustic and material blueprints for calmer homes. The engine is in private beta; its public research output is published as measured field logs in our Journal.
01 · Capture
Raw Spatial Video & Sensory Data
Room walkthroughs, window orientation, surface materials and lux readings are captured as structured spatial input.
02 · Reasoning
Claude Vision & Reasoning Engine
Claude 5.5 Sonnet analyzes geometry, light falloff and material friction, then reasons about how each threshold changes attention and rest.
03 · Output
Deceleration Protocols
Placement-level blueprints: lamp position and 2700K evening protocol, textile mass for acoustic softness, threshold sequences for entryways.
What the engine measures
- Daylight deceleration — e.g. a 12,000 lx window peak diffused toward a ≈450 lx evening field through linen and shoji layers.
- Circadian lighting protocol — 2700K warm sources after dusk, ceiling light removed from the rest zone.
- Acoustic softness — combined mass of oak, stone and linen surfaces, modeled qualitatively per material and placement.
- Threshold friction — doorway hesitation and entry sequence, measured down to a 1 cm level change.
Every published number comes from a logged case study. Start with Field Log 01 — The Light That Flattens a Room or the latest case study.
Built on the Claude API
The Spatial Engine integrates Claude through the first-party API as its reasoning core: multi-modal analysis of interior video frames (geometry, window orientation, material surfaces), spatial reasoning over daylight and acoustic behaviour, and structured generation of the placement protocol. Current production runs on Claude 5.5 Sonnet; the beta exposes the same pipeline to external rooms, one reviewed analysis at a time.
For Homeowners
Upload a room walkthrough, receive a measured lighting and layout blueprint you can apply without a renovation.
For Interior Architects
A second pair of eyes on daylight and threshold decisions, with numbers a client can verify.
For Design Studios
Phase 3: API access so studios can run spatial analysis inside their own project workflow.
Shipped so far: 5 measured field logs published · 58.9k monthly viewers on Pinterest (@KomorebiSpace) · private beta waitlist open. Oct 2026 — Spatial Engine v0.1: field-log pipeline live.
Request beta access
Beta rooms are reviewed manually while the engine is calibrated. Leave an email and we will reply from founder@komorebithreshold.com.
Product status & roadmap
Phase 1 — Research engine (live). The pipeline runs on real residential case studies; results are published openly as field logs and short-form video breakdowns.
Phase 2 — Private beta (open now). Homeowners and interior architects can request access to have a room analyzed. Requests are reviewed manually while the engine is calibrated.
Phase 3 — Self-serve tool. A guided upload flow (room video in, blueprint out) for homeowners, with an architect tier for client projects.
